Export & delivery
When the edit is done, export turns your timeline into a finished video file. Caliptus renders on your machine with sensible presets, a queue for batch jobs, still-frame export and a pre-flight check that catches problems before you wait for a render.
Export settings and presets
Top bar › Export
Choose a destination and quality, from a one-click preset to full manual control.
- Click Export in the top bar and choose a destination.
- Pick a Preset, or set Resolution, Frame rate, Quality, Codec and Bitrate yourself.
- Optionally set Loudness normalization and a Peak limiter, then start the export.
- If you are not signed in yet, Caliptus asks you to sign in with a free account before the export starts.
Bitrate can be left on Auto (quality). Hardware encoding is used when available, with a CPU (x264) fallback. Export needs a free account, then works offline for 14 days after your last sign-in.
Export queue
Export › Add to queue
Line up several exports and let them run one after another.
- Instead of exporting immediately, choose Add to queue.
- Manage jobs from the Export queue: pause, resume, retry, remove, or clear finished ones.
Export a still frame
Export › Export frame (PNG)
Grab a single high-quality image from the current frame, for thumbnails or stills.
- Move the playhead to the frame you want.
- Choose Export frame (PNG); the image is saved to disk.
Pre-export checks
Export › Pre-export checks
A pre-flight pass flags problems before you commit to a full render.
- Before exporting, Caliptus checks for issues such as missing media or fonts, disabled clips, unfilled template slots, black frames at the start or end, frame-rate mismatches and low disk space.
- Fix any blocking issues, review the warnings, and export when it is clear (or export anyway despite warnings).
