AI toolbox
Caliptus includes a set of AI tools that run entirely on your machine: no uploads, no account required for processing. Most of them live in the Inspector and render in the background so you can keep editing; the Assistant and Auto-short live in the floating Assistant drawer.
The local assistant
Assistant drawer (floating button)
Describe a change in plain language and the assistant proposes an editing plan you can apply in one click.
- Open the Assistant from its floating button.
- Describe what you want to do to your project.
- Review the proposed plan, then Apply it or dismiss it.
The assistant runs 100% locally.
Auto-short 9:16
Assistant drawer
Turn a long clip into a vertical short in one pass: reframed on the subject, silences cut and subtitles added.
- Add a video, then open Auto-short in the Assistant drawer.
- Choose what to include: reframe the subject, cut the blanks, add subtitles.
- Click Create short. It is a refinable first pass and fully undoable (Ctrl+Z).

Auto-reframe (track the subject)
Inspector › Auto-reframe
Automatically keep the subject in frame when you change aspect ratio, ideal for turning wide footage vertical.
- Select a clip and open Auto-reframe in the Inspector.
- Caliptus analyzes the shot in the background and pans to keep the subject centered.
AI mask and cutout
Inspector › AI mask / Cut out
Isolate a subject without a green screen: track it across the whole shot or drop the background entirely.
- For AI mask, place the box on the subject in the preview, then Apply: the AI tracks and cuts it out for the whole shot.
- For Cut out (no green screen), choose Fast or High quality to make the background transparent.
Motion tracking
Inspector › Motion tracking
Lock the clip to a moving object, or make a mask follow it.
- Place the tracking box on the object in the preview and click Analyze.
- The clip locks to keep that point still, or use Track with mask so a mask center follows the object.
Stabilize and style transfer
Inspector
Smooth out camera shake, or repaint a clip in an artistic style.
- Use Stabilize (Soft, Standard or Strong) to compensate camera shake, rendered in the background.
- Use AI effect (artistic style) to apply looks such as Candy, Mosaic, Rain Princess, Udnie or Pointillism.
Multicam
Inspector › Multicam
Cut between synchronized angles live, like a multi-camera switcher.
- Select the synchronized angles and open the multi-angle view.
- Switch angles live as the clip plays; each switch is recorded.
- Generate the result, or clear it to start over.
